Now I want to make it clear I'm not one of those people go onto a forum then slags everyone off 'cos I don't agree with them but I just didn't think it was all that funny, especially after all the hype I'd heard about it, However I thought that the Life of Brain was very funny indeed especially then ending of it. Just wondered if anyone else didn't really like the Holy Grail as it seems to be the most popular by far.

I think of all the Monty Python movies, Meaning of Life is the least funny (although it still is - just not as funny as the others). It has some absolutely cracking moments (Mr. Cresosote, Death arriving at the dinner party) but the others are stronger

I just watched MOL with a few first timers the other night, when there was about 20 minutes left in the movie, they asked how much was left, I figured they weren't enjoying it, I told them not too long, one said, thats a shame, I really like it.

I love the Holy Grail!! How can you not?! I've converted most of my friends to Pythonism by making them watch the Holy Grail and And Now For Something Completely Different repeatedly.
Well, if you can't tell, I don't really have much of a life and uh...My cousin Jill said she'd give me a llama. Go llamas!

Grail is my favorite film, but possibly for nostalgic reasons. I was 16 or 17 when this movie hit the States and although my friends and I were familiar with the series, none of us had ever seen such delicious sillyness on the big screen before. I must have seen it 5 or 6 times over a period of a few weeks. A gang of us would indulge in copious quantities of certain substances, ( What 'certain substances' officer? Blimey! Whatever he gave the wife ) and laugh our heads off. We went around saying 'ni' to each other and unsuspecting third parties for months. People thought we had all gone insane. Ah, those were the days.....

Sorry, drifted off there for a minute.

Anyway, I have the special edition DVD set where Terry Jones and Michael Palin revisit the locations and all the remaining Pythons watch the movie and giggle and make snarky comments and it's a hoot. Needless to say, Graham's two cent's worth are sorely missed.

yes yes, good times, good times.

I saw it in theaters when it made its re-release, alas I am too young to have been around at the original release.
