i've noticed in the coconuts scene in holy grail, there seems to be a discrepancy in the second guard's voice. he starts out sounding like john cleese, but by the end of the scene, he sounds like terry jones. has anyone else noticed this, and if so, what is your opinion of it?

You're fooling yourself.

Hey, I've noticed that too. I think that it's rather discouraging because they've tricked you into believing that it was John Cleese the whole time. I think we should do something about this. What do you think?

I'm sure I heard somewhere that the discrepancy is due to the fact that the voice was a chappie saying the guard's lines so that they could film Cleese in with the rest of the group.

but that doesn't make sense, because cleese wasn't otherwise in that scene. the only other characters were the first guard, played by michael palin, arthur, and patsy, none of whom were played by cleese. unless you're thinking of a different scene.

You're fooling yourself.

No that other one was Cleese, where entered the question of an african swallow, I believe that was his line. The first guard is Palin and the other guard was John Cleese.
