I'm relatively new to pythonism.
I first heard of monty python when some school friends started going on and on about holy grail and life of brian. Intregued, i mentioned it to my dad, and he started going all nostalgic on me, "oh i remember all those years ago, laughing at flying circus" etc etc.
The first monty python thing i saw was meaning of life, which i think isnt actaully a good one to see for your first time. Then i saw holy grail and life of brian, and loved them, and now im STILL working my way through the 12 of the 14 volumes of flying circus the video rental place has. Slowly but surely!

I honestly can't remember how I discovered Python - I remember the carnivorous pram anim from waaaaaaaaaay back but I couldn't tell you when.

I think I was probably 11 when I first saw Holy Grail, though I know my dad talked about the Pythons all through my younger years.
He also had me watch John Cleese's show "Falty Towers" (which I love) and then I got into all the other movies and the TV show on my own. Its been a growing obsession ever since, and The Holy Grail is my favorite.
