I first got into Monty Python when my cousins recomended it to me, we put on Holy Grail while we were working and I watched it everytime I wasn't waiting on a customer (I work in a video store BTW). Of course that was all I needed to get hooked so we went over to his house and watch both the Meaning of Life and Holy Grail and had a blast. I then found out about the TV shows on BBCA and watched a few of them. I forced myself to hold off watching them until I got the box set (nearly a year and a half later) so I could get the full enjoyement out of them without any commercials.

This Christmas I got the 16-Ton Megaset and that 3 disc special pack including Holy Grail, Baron Mon......, And Now for Something Completley Different. (yay)

My dad got me into Python, as he was a major fan. We watched the Holy Grail on holiday in Majorca, and I remember hating it, because it had no proper ending. Then I went back to it about six months later... realising that I did actually love it, and also that the dvd we watched was faulty - therefore there was an ending after all! Python is now my religion. Mmm.

Back in the early '70s (yes, I'm ancient -erk! (thud.)), there was a show called something like Dean Martin's Comedy Showcase, and on one show, they featured this new group from England calling themselves "Monty Python's Flying Circus." The first skit I ever saw was "Twentieth Century Vole" (although I didn't know it was called that at the time), and I was hooked!

So there. Pass the cheese.
