Someone PMed me wondering whats funny about MP. heres her pm, just cuz I dont wanna take the time to answer it myself. someone feel free!

Dark,
Hi there. My name's Karen Jackson I came across your name on the Monty Python fan discussion group. I'm from Australia and both myself and a classmate are researching the history of the brilliant Monty Python comedy group (their TV series and their films), in our media studies course at school. John Cleese is in Australia at the moment for a couple things that he's doing (a sold out business seminar being one of them) ; see the link to 3 articles below.

It's no problem, but we also needed to survey any Monty Python fans we can find, on the two questions below (we posted on a couple MP fan forums, but got a poor response). I'd be very grateful if you can answer, if possible. If you also wish to recommend any other hardcore, eloquent, witty MP fan/s you know (whom I can contact) please do if possible. I can mention you recommended them, or not. Thanks so much for your time. I hope to hear from you, if you can respond.

Question 1. What's always made (and still does) the Monty Python team (as a group) their humour and / or wit, so unique or compelling to you (compared to any other comedic groups, individuals, or dramatic / comedic actors (living or now deceased), whom you also admire ? If you've read or have anything (written about the Monty Python group) on file, that answers this, please let me know.

Question 2. From either your own (humorous) point of view, or a humorous, witty Monty Python viewpoint,
what's your own long or short term 'holy grail' (whatever your definition of that is) you'd like to have or experience ?

Sincerely,
Karen Jackson

It tastes like chicken doesn't it?

I got the same message - I've sent a reply.

Kudos to Karen though for sending requests via PM and e-mail, rather than spamming the board.

Good luck with the project if you're reading this.

I thought this was good:

'They are so unique because they did what is still noticed in tv and movies today: they broke the rules of comedy in the sixties, forever to be noticed. To add, they are timeless too. Mr. Creosote exploding was funny in the 80's, it was funny in the 90's, it's funny now and it will be funny in the future too.'
