As a Knight of the Round Table of Camelot, and appointed by King Arthur as
the Owner of the Largest Monty Python Collection in the Entire World,
my traditional anniversary thread begins thus:
Today, 5th October 2009, marks the amazing 40th anniversary
of the first broadcast of Monty Python's Flying Circus on BBC One.
Thank you Graham, John, Eric, TerryG, TerryJ, and Michael
for making it all worthwhile. Never in the course of human events
have so many laughed so hard at so little written by so few.
My DVD player is ready for an exhausting marathon, and Sir Michael's friends
and fellow knights are due at Camelot on Saturday for the celebration.
I'd also like to personally announce that my book about Monty Python memorabilia,
after a decade or two of acquisition and too much wishful thinking, is finally in progress!
Alright, so it may take another year or two to complete and godknows-howlong to get it
published... interested publishers may PM me for details and leave all hope behind.
Anyway. Happy anniversary everyone. Monty Python can save the world.
