He did lead quite an odd life, didn't he? I mean, he was so talented in so many ways- being a doctor, and excellent writer and great comedic actor... but he had so many sad issues that he had to deal with as well. I feel horrible for him. I hope he knew he was loved... :(

pneumonia brought about by the throat cancer

just to be a pedant;
i don't see how throat cancer caused his pneumonia
tis more likely that he developed it coz of the cancer treatment killing off all his antibodies

oh christ - who am i kidding? who cares about the finer details of HOW he died - the point is the man died; a slow, horrible, undignified death that NOBODY deserves.

i know when i first joined this forum i didn't like Graham very much, but as i've got more into python, i've got more and more fond of him. He seems to have been a top bloke with a lot to live for and i'm very sorry he went, especially way he did. In the short time he was with us he did stuff that most people can't achieve in a whole (full) lifetime and only dream about, so i take my hat off to him.

in this moment of sombreness (which is unusual for me so make the most of it), i think we all ought to raise a glass (or something):

To Graham. Long may he make us laugh!

I know that they have a clip of Graham's eulogy on ifilm.com if you want to watch it. It's actually really funny! All they Pythons are there and I think John Cleese does the actual speaking. Very amusing and sad at the same time... They sing 'Always Look On The Bright Side' at the end, too.
