Now that the Easter hols are here, a couple of friends and meself are thinking of doing a 'Python Pilgrimage' to the places they filmed flying circus in (because they are just up the road from us) and take photos and stick them on a website or something for y'all to see how (if) things have changed

the only problem is, we haven't seen much of the flying circus stuff: SO

if you know of any of the places they filmed the sketches, or mentioned in sketches, let me know here, and i'll do my best to go and visit them (obviously can't do foreign places..... like Finland... lets keep it British here people!)!

here are the places we know of so far:

Ipswich
Bolton/notloB
Purley
Acton
Carshalton
Thames Ditton
Malden
Carshalton Beeches

any/all help/info would be fantastic :D

c'mon guys - hit me with it!

Well i have heard tell of a documentary thing in which mikey went around london sticking plauqes on the places where they filmed python things. Like, on people's front doors and things. lol.
Apparently there's lots of flying circus stuff that was filmed in the streets/blocks around the BBC studio in London. New Cooker sketch is one.
Could you imagine that, you just hear a knock on the door, you answer it and standing there is Michael Palin! Then to discover your front door was in a major python sketch...
I havent seen this doc myself, someone was telling me about it.

Anyway i think a 'python pilgrimage ' is a wonderful idea... i would love to come if i wasnt in australia...

OOOOOOOOOOOH WOW!!! thanks Gambolputty!!!! lots and LOTS of places for me 2 visit!!!!

fish slapping@Teddington Lock: yeah, why not - its only about an hour away :)
about the same distance as it is to the only decent shopping centre near me! lol

btw - if anyone else is thinking of doing the same as me;
this will be your bible: http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/X ... anguage=en

and an oyster card will be your best friend - as ken livingstone has put the sodding fares up AGAIN! £1.50 for a 1 way bus fare! doesn't matter if you're going 1 stop or 13, its the same price! AND all the chavs get to go on for free because they're 'young'! bastards.

I just realised something.

Being in Australia i always feel my python-ness is somewhat disadvantaged, harder to get dvds, they never come here, and I cant really get to any of the python places as polo tottie mentioned.

But, I've just realised, i have actually been to a python place.... wooloomalloo!
Although i didnt know python existed at that time.... its still cool!
