I was just wondering what episode had the courtroom sketch with John Cleese singing that bit "If I was not a barrister...". I love that episode, and I just watched it but forgot which one it was. Also, which episode had the Flying Lessons sketch? Oh, and I'm having a party next weekend for my birthday, and about 12 of my mates are coming over, and I was wondering which episodes we should watch? I mean, which ones would be easiest to get a group laugh out of? Thanks. :)

Well if they haven't seen Python before you might want to start with HG. otherwise, sex and violence is a good one in my opinion.

All of my friends are good, loyal Pythonists, so I think we'll skip HG, but thank you alot for the episodes!

Personally, my favorites are episodes 8 (Full Frontal Nudity), 9 (The ant, an introduction) and 10 (Untitled).

I'll hijack this thread since it seems like there's enough of "what episode" threads already ;)

I am looking for a sketch where they are discussing the word butterfly in different languages. Can't seem to find what one it is no matter where I look so I hope someone here knows what one I am talking about.

I don't know what sketch you're referring to - it definately isn't a Monty Python one.

Are you sure, maybe it isn't from the series but one of the movies?
They sit there and discuss all these different names Papillon, Schmetterling and so on and think they end up with something that all but the German word is nice sounding or something :)

i only found this (non-monty-python) joke:
There's an old joke about a Spaniard, a Frenchman, and a German instructing an American about who's language is the most beautiful. The Spaniard says "Consider the word 'butterfly', in Spanish it is 'mariposa'" and he rolls the word beautifully off his tongue. The Frenchman sniffs and says "Yez, bot in een French eet iz e-ven more beauteeful, eet iz 'papillon' and he pronounces the word even more elegantly than the Spaniard. The German harrumphs and glares at the other three and says "And vat iz wrong mit da vord 'Schmetterling'?"

Sounds right, but I am sure I seen it in a sketch and I can't figure out who else would have done it if it wasn't the Monty Python gang.
Oh well, guess I'll just have to keep searching the net :)

Thanks anyway!
