I see what you're saying, however i would like to focus more on the bloopers when a character... goes out of character. When he/she makes a mistake that was not intended to happen as opposed to a typo in the script.

Would you be alright with a thread that simply showed where in a given episode a python cracks a smile or makes an unintended mistake?

this has been said many times before, but:
Eric biting the knife in the witch scene of holy grail
Eric laughing in MOL when they rock him back and forth in the war scene
Mike laughing in the 'biggus dickus' scene in LOB
Mike laughing in the killer sheep sketch when graham says "arh! its got a gun!'
John Cleese smiling in the 'ypres-1914' sketch when they draw straws
John Cleese starts smiling halfway through the penguin on the television sketch

and thats all i can think of for now.

uuuh, isn't that a nice troupe? i mean, the only 'mistakes' they make is laughing and smiling! 8)

btw, my copy of the fantastic autobiography arrived. i'm just watching all those nice pics and i can't believe how much to read it has in it!
honestly, has anybody of you read the whole book?

An awful lot of mistakes can be found in the scripts on this website - by which I mean that there are hugely incorrect transcriptions. So there you have it.

Besides, bloopers as in accidents on tapes there are none. That sort of material was not kept. And even if any raw material was kept it has never been shown in public.

Exactly, thats why i would like to make a thread to point out these "bloopers". Firstly because there is no tape or record of them and secondly they're super funny! :D

And its kinda of a pain to go through each episode looking for bloopers.. i'm willing to do it for the forum and make a sweet thread. Let me know if you like my idea, spiny norman.

Monty python being silly and unpredictable, it will be very hard to notice if a character goes out of character. It's difficult NOT to notice anything unusual... that was one of my objections, anyway, that there are only a few genuine bloopers. Whereas, if monty python had been a serious historical drama series, we could have pinpointed all sorts of incorrect things.

I've checked them, they really are smiling there...very funny!

*still humming Bing tiddle tiddle bong*

As I was checking them bloopers, thinking it must be very hard to notice those things I accidentally spotted in the 'There's been a murder' that John starts smiling when Mike says 'classified information' :D

aaaaaahhhhh, im glad you asked.

It's in the part where Mike has his face very close to one of the guards, the guard is pulling ridiculous faces in an attempt not to smile, mike is saying 'do you find it wisible....... when i mention my fwriend.... biggus...... dickus?'
mike is facing away from the camera but if you look closely, you can see he is laughing. Then when he turns around, he's pulled himself together.:P

you checked them? :o :P

I never noticed JC smiling in 'theres been a murder'. I'll have to check that one.

And, i remembered another one - in the flying sheep sketch, where John and Mike are giving the lecture in french, mike starts laughing when he has to stick the moustache on john and has to turn away from the camera to hide his laughter :P
