help wanted !
around 8'30'', I don't catch (!) really the sense of the comments about "Nelson Bedowes" and all that follow about him.
I presume a joke between "at gray's inn" and "we bet gray's in" but all is a bit confuse for me, except it's probably something about his private life
(S.M ?)
thanks from the frenchy ! :lol:

It's suppose to be a news paper article very "people" (like The Sun or The Daily Mirror ?) about juges and lawyers.

=
"all will be revealed soon, m'lord",
quipped tall, 42-year-old Nelson Bedowes, cutie q.c.
Nelson's keen on negligence and grievous bodily harm at gray's inn.
And with cases like he's won, we bet gray's in when Nelson's around.
=

the two last lines are my problem...
q.c. = queen something ? counsellor ?

merci !

A Q.C. is a legal someone. I don't know the British legal system but I think it's some sort of attorney.
(Remember the sketch with the gay judges, one of them complains about "the way those Q.C.'s carry on" as well. )

my old "Robert and Collins" answer me:
Q.C. = queen's council --> member of that council

but about the lines ?

the first is referring to a place that nelson apparently frequents, and the second is in reference to when a person, presumably named gray, is in.

that's what i think, anyway.

okay, thanks,
I'll manage my translation on the way of gay-maso-sado"..activity !
That's what I thought actually...
another question about the title:"Spam"
I knew that it's a kind of canned porc meat with a bad connotation, but for anyone who knows the (wonderfull...!) french cooking, can you compare that kind of corned-beef (?) with something we have in France ?
I translate: "pâté"
do you think it's correct ?
