Hello fellow pythonists. I have a question. In the Election Night Special Sketch, there is a guy who says "can i just say that this is the first time i have ever appeared on television". I was wondering who he is, as he also appears in a few other sketches, eg the 'Splunge!' sketch and he appears as inspector fire in the policeman sketch.
"hello i am inspector fire."
"fire?!"
"where! where!"

does anyone know who he is?

Ian Davidson was mostly a writer on shows such as The Two Ronnies, The Barry Humphries Show etc, but also produced Do Not Adjust Your Set (which starred Eric Idle, Michael Palin and Terry Jones (and David Jason), plus had animations by Terry Gilliam and songs by Neil Innes).

I suspect that when the Pythons needed an extra "body" as it were, they rounded up people who they had worked with.
