I don't know, perhaps satanists can be fun. Can be made fun of, I mean. I suspect it breaks the ice at parties, too.

'Nice to meet you. So what do you do?'
"I'm a satanist."
'How interesting, that explains the outfit - no idea you could do that for a living.'
"Yes, it started as a hobby, but now I'm a professional satanist."
'So does it earn a living?'
"There is an ever growing demand for this kind of thing, so I would have been mad not to take the job."
'What did you do before this then?'
"I was a chartered accountant. It's never too late for a career change, I always say. In fact, if you want to change your life, you should pay us a visit sometimes - here's my card."
'Eew! Your card is covered in blood!'
"Yes, sorry about that. In this business you have to live up to certain expectations, you see. Gosh, is that the time? You really must excuse me, I have a black mass at five and I still have to get the goat."

Anyway ayn rand isn't a satanist - she's more like John Cleese in that sketch where he rants at communists.

How many Adrian Mole books are there anyway? (too lazy to Google :P )

A lot:
Secret diary (aged 13 and a half)
Growing pains
True confessions
Wilderness years
Capuccino years
A Mole and the weapons of mass destruction

(that's what I know)

I love the cappucino years! I want to read them all one of these days

Mark Haddon The curious incident of the dog in the night is a good book.
