Due to complications bringing the old forum to the new server, I decided to go all out and convert the entire thing over to phpBB (that's the forum you're using right now). The conversion process was an extremely hellish experience, but after 4 nights of screwing around with it, I think everything is finally working.

Formatting in some posts is a little ugly, but all the data is still there. There was no way I was going to dump 3 years worth of posts and start over from scratch!

Post here if you have any problems with the new forum.

I don't have any problems. I just wanted to say that I like the new layout. It's a lot better than the old one. Plus, the smiley's move :D!!!

Yeah... this forum is much swankier than the old one. Glad to see one of the regulars made her way back without a hitch!

Have fun!

You could have also just deleted tons of very old posts or at least dozens of register-once-never-visited-since-users. It looks pretty impressive to have hundreds of members - but most of those accounts are as dead as any dead parrot.

Just a thought.

Yeah, you caught me, it's all about appearances.

Yes, I could have deleted old posts and users... but what does it matter, really? Does it hurt to have an archive of old posts people can read and search through?

No, it's just that my usual username was taken so I decided to sulk about it.

I suppose it would have made things a lot easier for yourself. But if you did it anyway who am I to argue?

i personally agree with the keeping of old posts, but i also think that some of the registered-but-never-posted users should be gotten rid of.
