I seem to recall Cleese once saying
that he'd crack up whenever
Michael Palin would stare at him
and just lift an eyebrow.
"Marching up and down the square"
comes to mind as a scene where
Palin really uses his eyebrows for comic effect.

May I just say that the most comic eyebrows ever in history belong to the Baronness in "The Sound Of Music". I swear they have a life of their own.

Yeah, I never really noticed his eyebrows either. I'll have to keep that in mind, too, the next time I watch any Monty Python movies. I do love the "Marching up and down the square" sketch though.

Totally! He does have the most expressive/mobile brows I have ever seen in my life. Can't blame Cleese for crackin' up over that---I certainly would as well.

Ah, gotta love The Eyebrows...

I've never noticed, if I'm honest. But I'll look out for it. Does it make a difference to his cuteness? I noticed the eye rolling more than anything, e.g. Knights of Ni and Pilate.

it does make a difference to his cuteness........ it makes him cuter! i never noticed it before i read this topic, but now i notice it all the time....he uses his eyebrows very well in the blackmail sketch i think.

He uses his eyebrows well in everything he does I reckon.....like the rest of him, they are terrifically sexy.....
