Is it just me - or are they out of control? It's a great fun watching, but I am barely able to follow. He is sick, is he not? Well, 'sick', if not sick - although; might be sick just as well. There's a subtle division.

they are NOT out of control. i have to disagree with you there. Gilliams animations are the work of a genius with an interestingly eccentric mind. life would be boring if it wasn't for people like him. his animations are not sick. and quite easy to follow. yes you are unsure what they are heading towards. but thats a good thing. not everything in life should be predictable. i love his animations. they are one of a kind. there never have been or never will be animations quite the same ever again. he is truly individual. and this is reflected in his work.

i'd say they definitely aren't all "kosher", but then again, isn't all monty python like that? it's part of what makes the group what it is, and i think that they're perfectly fine.

they wouldn't be funny if they didn't break some rules once in a while. look how long it took to remove the punchline for crying out loud. you can't get anywhere being completely conventional you know.....

There's nothing I disagree with - but I'm still wondering; is there a 'message' in each animation?

i'd say not for most of them.

only one that i can think of really has some semblance of a "message". American Defense somewhat sends the message that the american government overrates itself, but only somewhat.

that's what i think anyway.

Well, maybe 'message' isn't the most precise word. How about 'story' which one should be able to follow if knowledgable enough? Or are most animations
based on complete absurdity?
