I think it was Auschwitz, but it could have been Belsen...When the Pythons went to Germany to do the German episodes of MPFC, their hosts took them on a trip to see the preserved concentration camp. When they got there they were told the camp was closed and they couldn't come in, so Chapman shouted to one of the hosts, who was doing the inquiring: 'Just tell 'em we're Jews!'

A bad-taste joke or a brilliant satire on the way the atrocities of contemporary history have been transformed into mass tourist sites?

Actually I think it was Belsen, as Auschwitz/Oswiecim is in Poland.

well i think that's funny.

then again, i also like racist jokes.

so perhaps my opinion doesn't count very much.

btw, that doesn't mean i'm a racist. racism in practice makes me sick. i just like the jokes about it.

I know what you mean, if youve read the speech John Cleese made at Graham's funeral. i dont think Chapman could ever have been "tamed", as you put it.
besides he had the same hair colour as me....

Eric Idle.

But then again Terry Gilliams cartoons are so amazing...

Or perhaps I should choose Graham Chapman because of his rare outburst of lunacy during writing sessions

But Terry Jones has the nicest eyes.....

Oh I don't know what was the question? I think it goes something like:

1.Eric Idle and Graham Chapman
3. Terry Jones
4. Michael Palin
5. Terry Gilliam
6. John Cleese

But that's not to say I don't like John Cleese. I do! He is marvellous, but then again...

*gasp* Im afraid i must strongly disagree, Eric Idle has the most gergeous eyes! Graham had rather nice eyes too. Sorry but eric's eyes are a point which i feel strongly about...

This is a tough one. But I'd have to say:

John Cleese (because I have a sarcastic wit, too. Mu user name comes from "The Pirahna Brothers".)
Michael Palin ("Bum. Oh! What a giveaway!" That still kills me.)
Eric Idle (I like wordplay, too.)
Graham Chapman (nobody could play a military figure like him.)
Terry Jones (must be that Welsh accent.)
Terry Gilliam (his fantastic animations, of course)

Sorry Fog. Eric does have great eyes, and as I am rather partial to blue eyes, I also like Graham's too. I've said somewhere else that I think I would marry him if he wasn't gay... or dead. But that's just a technicality!

one of my favourite bits with eric's eyes is in the lethal joke sketch in ANFSCD...... fan-tastic!
