PURLEY!! i know purley!!!
I think (now i DO actually come to think about it) i'm really lucky to live (well not at the moment - i'm in uni) in Surrey as a majority of the places the Pythons filmed in are just up the road from me!
for years, i thought i lived in dull boring suburbian hellhole surrey..... now i KNOW i live in dull boring suburbian hellhole surrey, BUT exciting stuff DID happen here in the not too distant past!
Malden is literally walking distance from me, Purley is about 20 mins, croydon is also very near, my cousin lives in Acton.... wow! i've just realised how cool it is to live where i do!!!
all the places they filmed at though are pretty shabby... even though Acton is 'the place' to live for BBC ppl, its really quite run down :S
Purley is an absolute dump. seriously - and croydon isn't safe at all... carshalton is quite nice because there are some oldy worldy buildings and the like there, but thats about as far as it goes. i think i'll go on some sort of pilgrimage over the hols and go to purley etc and take some piccys to show you lot what its like now.
i found this website which is ok as far as giving you an idea what Purley is like... but they want those silly japanese character things installed so you can't read what's underneath. arf.

anyway: here's the website:
http://www.kitazonohouse.demon.co.uk/R. ... 0town.html
(nudge nudge)

this is carshalton pond (minutes before you get to the skuzzy part of town)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:0272 ... n_pond.jpg

(carshalton from and now for something completley different in the blackmail sketch)

will find/take other pictures when i have time and if you're interested

but right now i have to dash off to another lecture.

and there was much rejoicing.

yay.

ooh by the way - coz i don't have/haven't seen all the flying circus sketches, if there are any names/places you'd particularly like to see, list 'em here and i'll see if i can get around to taking some pics of them next time i'm in surrey properly - not just a flying visit home (easter hols are in about 4/5 weeks if you can wait that long)

so far; i know about:
Carshalton
Croydon
Malden
Is Merton mentioned anywhere??
Purley
doubt if epsom is mentioned somehow - bit far out of london :(
