Yes, that was about the reunion show a few years before that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Python It is here, look under 'The end?' and you'll see it. But Python Night wasn't a Cleese dominated show. The other (4, since Eric wasn't there of course) Pythons played more roles than him and all had more screentime (I know this for sure).

Depends who wrote the sketches. Obviously Michael had the Pythonland bit, which was one of the documentaries. Otherwise you can't really know. Anyway it's the only explanantion I've heard so far.

I didn't really know where to put this stuff so I've put it here. I just recieved the Best of Monty Python 4DVD box, and on the Live at Aspen box there is most of the Python Night. For the people who have never heard of this:
In 1999, when Python existed for 30 years, there was (on BBC2) a long night to celebrate that, including documentaries and NEW sketches: Almost half an hour of that. The quality of it varies though it is fun to see them back at work. If you wanna have a look: Inside Europe buy Best of Monty Python, outside buy Life of Python. Both contain almost the same material, although it is a bit chaotic on the Best of version. Also missing on that version is the 'lost' MayDay sketch, originally broadcast between the second and third series, and when it was broadcast in 1999 for the Python Night, they filmed a new introduction sketch. This however, is NOT on the Best of version but it is on Life of Python version.
I will place a few screenshots of the new bits, but for now I would like to hear what you thought about it. As I said, I liked it but not everything was that good.

Bought it a while ago...although this was probably posted awhile ago...

You've probably seen it by now. What do you think about it?

Unfortunately, i haven't watched it yet, because i can't found subtitles to it, even in english. Maybe you noticed that i'm from poland and it's better to read in english than to listen to it. I was looking for that for while but no results. I have no choice- i have to watch it in english :( i've only seen some scenes of that and i like that. fortunately they speak distinctly and maybe i will manage to watch it without subtitles. maybe today? (sorry for any mistakes in my english)

As i said, i watched it yesterday and... i understood almost everything (without subtitles)! I really likw this film. it was very interesting. I find out about monty python what I was asking myself since i have been fan of them (Did i write it correct? you know what i mean... i hope). There where answers which indulge (?) my curiosity. i like this knew sketches and pythonland... only what i don't like about that was sketch with with carol cleveland. i think she overstated and her performance was sham or insincere or artifficial...... anyway, despite her film was terrific!

Thanks for the sketch, Yannick_Joker.

Is Python Night the same as the Life of Python DVD?

Yes, it is. Only one minor difference, it doesn't include the celebrity segment with wrong names.
