Hello...

I have a question about the DVD "Parrot Sketch not included".
I didn't get it, because I thought it was a re-formulation similar to "and now something completely different", or maybe only a compilation of some sketchs from "Flying Circus".
Am I right...? is that a compilation or a re-formulation...? But now I have some doubts about...

And I have read there was a new sketch with Steve Martin, but that sketch wasn't published... is that true?

Greetings from Spain

It's a compilation of the "best" sketches of Monty Python's flying Circus, excluding the parrot sketch. Steve Martin kind of hosts the show, introducing it and then closing it at the end.

Here's the end if you wanted to see it, it's pretty cute.

And sad too. The last time the Pythons were all together and the last time Graham was filmed. Shot two weeks before his death.

Aww that is really sad. I knew it was the last time Graham was filmed but I didn't know it was two weeks before he died :( .

It was a 20th anniversary compilation. ANFSCD is a lot older and was an attempt by playboy to bring the flying circus season 1 to an American audience, by shooting the best sketches again. That is why ANFSCD looks almost indentical to the FC.

They look better definately. I guess they had more time and money to do it just the way they wanted.

Mwa, I don't think it makes the slightest difference. Except that they corrected a mistake from the upperclass twit contest where originally, there aren't enough dolls with bras for all contestants (but one ran over himself).

i think some of the sketches are done better, while others i prefer the original.
The lumberjack song is definately better in ANFSCD, as is upperclass twit, and silly army drills, and self defence.
But i prefer the original nudge nudge, orginal funniest joke in the world, and the original dirty fork, so there you go.
