depends on the format...

To read just sitting in front of the computer is awful. You can also print the book, but if it's a 700 pages book like Michael's maybe it's easier and cheaper to buy it

It is indeedy a big one, but lets not forget it also only covers 10 years, there could be later versions covering 1980 - 1990 (The non Python Years) and 1990 - 2000 (The Travelling Years) etc. :-)

What about Treasure Island? I know, it's terrible, but ...well...I don't have an excuse.

@ Pythongirl: Michael Palin's book 'The Python Years' is going to be released soon. Hurrah!!!

I assume that you have read the book by now - did you find the newspaper's interpretation of Palin's retelling to be accurate? I own the CD version of the diaries. Although I have as yet only listened to it once, I didn't get the impression that it was as dark as the paper said. It seemed as though Michael and John actually got on very well. The description of Eric and Graham seemed to correlate though. Apparently the overshadowing John was 6ft tall by the age of 12! I like TG's description of Cleese's superior status :D You wouldn't happen to know where Graham's public antagonistic venting can be accessed do you? I would be curious to see exactly what he said.

You wanna hear something annoying? Michael Palin was sigining copies of this on Friday in a local bookstore. Of course, I only found out after the fact... I did see him introduce And Now For Something Completely Different on the same night, but it would have been cool to actually talk to him and have him sign the book.

That would indeed be coolness at its finest. Though if you do meet him ever, make sure you don't mistake him for Eric Idle, as someone he came across on his foreign adventures did :D .
