I noticed whilst on holiday that there are updated editions of the movie soundtracks, does anybody know when they first came out?

is there anything special with them?

btw: i think the soundtracks from the python-films made more sense when they came out in the 70s/80s. nowadays you can buy the dvds. why should i only listen to scenes when i could see them.

I must say, though, I have the soundtracks on CD to Life Of Brian and the Holy Grail - don't think much of the latter, but the Brian one is actually quite enjoyable to listen to. Not as good as watching the film, however :D

The new version of the holy grail is in the same format as the old life of brian one, much better. And they all come with some form of bonus material.

You can listen to them in bed with your eyes closed or in the car, on a train, plane, tractor etc.

I have not touched the soundtracks, the only Monty Python CDs that I have are:

Matching Tie And Handkerchief
Monty Python's Previous Record
Monty Python Sings
The Final Rip-Off

- Except for some tiny bits the others are outdated because they date from time when people had no video recorders at home. They're only curiosities any longer.
