I always thought Grail was a bit rushed through - the whole cops and historian is a bit of a cop out. What would've been a better finale?

I dunno, maybe a better ending would be to have something bad happen to the evil french guys? i do agree though, the ending was a bit of a cop-out. Ni!

How about thefrench taunting knights being splatted by a 16 ton weight? Or being spanked to death by Dingo and Zoot?

They ran out of money as they were so seriously over budget..... the whole historian/Police stuff was cobbled together in order to manufacture a quick ending... the early scripts had all sorts of endings, including them all going off a pier in a van that had God driving... hmmmm

Alot didn't get in the film.... hence the reference to "Sir not appearing in this film" in the title sequence...

Holy Grail is the best of the films. Scripts are good. Quoted b4 them anyway. Now I have the scripts hehehe. And tonight I watch my very very worn out video for the 100th time. then fall asleep on the sofa. and get up...late for work. realise my job is worthless. go in get my pay and go home. sounds like a fun plan, no? lmao.

It was a bit umm botched tho, what with all the historian stuff, and some scenes could have been shortened like the walking to the lake and the animation with the monk, and other bits could have been lengthened for example the ending scenes, which was not only totally incomprehendable but also discombobulatingly short and rushed. I reckon we should band together and make an alternative ending. involving sponges, squirrels, and a hyperactive beaver.

I'm so boring, I don't have a decent signature.

I agree, the film ending wasn't all that. I would have loved it if the girls from Castle Anthrax or the killer rabbit returned or something. That would have been brilliant! The Holy Grail is my favourite film of all time, I think

The brilliant original ending (King Brian the wild) can be seen by beating the Monty Python and the Holy Grail computer game. It may also be on the Special edition DVD, but dont hold me to that one. The cop thing was a very pythonesque ending if you ask me, very reminiscent of the ending to "Owl-Stretching time" with the Colonel.
