The shows had no relationship to the year 1948; the title simply referred to the BBC's annoying habit of letting new shows sit on the shelves for months at a time before broadcasting them.

That's not how Tim-Brooke Taylor recalls the story on the 1948 Show DVD interview is it?

Does anyone know if "How to irritate people" is available in region 4 VHS or DVD, I found a copy on Australian ebay however it only works on US and Canadian vcrs!

You could download DVDRegionFree59.exe and watch it on your PC.

I really like ALT1948S a lot! so it's by far my favourite
Do Not Adjust Your Set was good, and same thing counts for How to Irritate People, but just not as great.
I haven't seen the others yet, but I'll make work of it.

For me it's between "How to irritate people" and " At last the 1948 show" they are both excellent series though I haven't watched much of "Do not adjust your set" yet.

Oh this is hard. Well, I love 1948 but I didn't really like DNAYS. I didn't like the music inbetween and that woman (I think her name was Denise Coffey) annoyed me to no end. But some sketches were really hilarious but overall 1948 was better to me, but How to irritate people is hilarious as well. I go with How to irritate people, since it also includes Palin which gives it a bit more complete 'Python' feeling.
