On www.rottentomatoes.com, out of all the critics, Tideland got a 28% (rotton).

Compare that with other Gilliam films:
Brothers Grimm - 39% (rotton)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - 41% (rotton)
12 Monkeys - 88% (fresh)
The Fisher King - 87% (fresh)
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen - 89% (fresh)
Brazil - 97% (fresh)
Time Bandits - 95% (fresh)
Jabberwocky - 44% (rotton)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail - 94% (fresh)

I saw Tideland this morning. It wasn't creepy to watch, but I gotta say once I emerged from its depraved world back into reality I got a bit spooked.

I´d say it´s just Gilliams artwork! Some hate it, and some love it.

I want to see it!

Because of all the negative reports about Tideland, I watched it with the sound off.

I think it's a good way to assess a film - if the pictures tell a story I consider it art and will no doubt get a mixture of good and bad reviews just like any other work of art.

I must admit I was using the PC as well as watching the pictures, so I'm not going to give an opinion about what I thought yet, but some of the cinematography was stunning.
