From the Spamalot website:

Quote:
Spamalot To Open In Australia, Mate!

Spamalot is set to begin previews at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne on November 23 and will officially open on December 8, 2007. On the opening down under Eric Idle says, "we are anxious to see how the show plays upside down." First tickets will be available in July and casting will be announced later this year.

i'd shoot for D1 (or D101 when i went to it), personally. if they don't change it, you'll probably end up on stage.

Eric was on Parkinson last night - very funny interview.

He says that in the US everyone thinks he's Michael Palin - so he tells them he is and then he's really rude to them so as to dent the Mikester's 'nice' reputation.

Hehe :D

Well, adverts for it in Oz/Bruceland/Australia etc. have started showing on tv which is very good.

I found out this morning whilst watching 'Sunrise' that from 8 AM to 8 PM Australian Eastern Standard Time on this 31st of July 2005 that they would be selling tickets (The rest of the tickets don't go on sale until September) for those 12 hours in Melbourne's Federation Square.
Also found out in the Herald Sun that 100 posters signed by Eric Idle are to be won, there'd be a BBQ and other things of that sort.

I didn't go (although I still can, since it's only 5pm at time of writing) because I had school, I live in outer Eastern suburbs etc. but mainly because I'm lazy.

Now I'm curious:-

1.Who's seen it? Is it worth it?

2.Did anyone who happened to be in Australia at the time go to the thing at federation square?

3.Will any Australians go to it?

It's scheduled to open late November.

At the moment I'm tossing up whether to go or not but leaning towards going.

wish there was more info about this on the web!!!

You seem to know more than the official site does.

There's more info on ticketek I think which usually mediates tickets so I'd swing by there for more info.

I read it's going to be running until late February.

I was on a waiting list and can get tickets before the rest of the public apparently.
