We would have loved to have gone on tour or even done an extended season but unfortunately we were unable to get permission from Python Pictures.
I rang them last week (London that is) to see if we could do extra performances but they said they will not be allowing any further amateur stage shows for a while.
It seems they are waiting to see how Spamalot (Holy Grail musical) goes on Broadway first.
I imagine if that is a success then Brian could well be the next.
In the meantime I have to look around for another production to do next year.
If anyone has any ideas let me know.
After the success of Brian our theatre company is looking for another challengin show.
At present I'm thinking Young Frankenstein if Mel Brooks will give us the okay (just imagine the entire set and costumes all in black and white) or possibly writing a play to utilise all the songs from Alice Cooper's Welcome To My Nightmare.
What do you think?, Wal

Alice is a good guy, you could probably get the permission from him, if you asked real nicely.

I am actually in the pre-stages of writing two shows, both dealing with theater itself, in different forms. I hope to have at least one done by August of 2005, but we'll see

Young frankenstein would be cool, especially if you did it all in black and white. Though you'd never be able to replicate igor!!!!!!

hello strangers, Thought I would drop you a line regarding Life of Brian. Pictures of dress rehearsals can be found on www.thepoetryfactory.com.au and a bit of a blurb.

Our theatre company's next production is Blackadder II, featuring three episodes Bells, Money and Chains in May. It seems like British comedy is alive and well in country Australia.

I read with slight disappointment that Spamalot the Musical includes Always Look on the Bright Side of Life as the finale song.

I guess that torpedoes a professional version of Life of Brian. Ah well, at least we did it here, regards Wal.

The Young Frankensteinone soundsawesome, but unfortunently (or forunently...however you look at it...), I've read in multiple places that Mel isalready working on a stage version of that as a follow up for The Producers.

Yeah...I almost cried when I found outhe passed...I LOVE him. I just rented a movie that had him in it, unintentionally. It's called "Where The Buffallo Roam".
