I'm near the end of my translations in french, even I found recently a new DVD season 4 with french subtitles .

around 21' :

"I didn't know you were a member of the a.a."
"yes, ever since the corsair broke down in leytonstone."
"They towed it all the way to Deauville"

several questions:

A.A > anonymous alcoholics ?
corsair > pirate ? plane of the second world war ? model of boat ?
tow it to france (Deauville) > ???????? tow the boat ?

thanks everybody !

alright, from looking at the script, this is what i'm guessing:

AA is some sort of automotive club, sort of like the AAA here in america (don't know if that helps at all). could stand for Automobile/Automotive Association, perhaps. in which case the Corsair would be a model of car that said association had towed for Mr. and Mrs. Scum to Deauville (could be just a made-up city) for free.

that's how i read that bit.

thanks Dennis,
you're probably right,
I remember I drove in US, 20 years ago, with a book guide of AAA
in my memory, it seems that Corsair was a Ford model of car
( but it was too a plane of the second war, a fighter build by Vought with strange shape wings..)

it's more likely than a story about a boat and alcoholic people...but with the Python's , we never know !!

After doing a wiki search AA in this case stands for 'the Automobile Association' which in 1949 began breakdown and recovery service and in 1967 began insurance.

So the Corsair is no doubt the Ford Corsair too which was apparently made by Ford of Britain, which would make sense using a reference to a British car.

I always thought he said "towed it to Dover" - I'll check the script book at some point.
