Hello Guys

I'm writing a thesis on the Importance of Humour in Britain based on Monty Python's humour and its cultural impact. The question concerns the last part of the topic, namely , The Cultural Impact of Monty Python. Could you give me the main ideas, any articles, links etc. It will be a short subchapter comprising just a few paragraphs so I need the most important influences. Thanks for your help and let the force be with you... always. :)

I'd also check out the huge numbers of comedians who say that Monty Python was an influence - Eddie Izzard, Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Paul Whitehouse, The Reduced Shakespeare Company... there's loads.

I'm rather interested in cultural influences. For example, how the media changed after the Monty Python series were on the run, how people's attitudes changed ( towards comedy, jokes, topics that were mercileslly ridiculed by MP). I know there's a book by Landy Marcia called " Monty Python Flying Circus, which is fully devoted to this subject. Unfortunatelly it's so freakin expensive in The Banana Republic of Poland (where I live), that it would be a sin to buy it and write a few paragraphs :). If someone has the book and would be so nice to scan a few pages for me I would be extremely grateful :) Thank you again :)

Oh and We're talking about Britain only :)

Was there a sketch in which a famous but notoriously slow English literature author was attempting to write and a sports announcer was following his (lack of) progress?

That's from a record.
It's not a television episode.
