Mrs Norris, I`m Monty Python`s fan from Poland and the first sentence is in Polish. I hope I didn`t disturb you. You`re right-nothing important is going on and there`s nothing to understand[:)]

first of all: thelwat, do you think everybody in this forum has an idea of what we're doing in the other forum? Or do you think they even clued in?

And magga: thanks for clearing that up. I obviously don't speak Polish, so I just thought I'd ask. The only languages that I can somewhat speak are German and French.

Anyways, ON WITH THE CRAZINESS!

Do you think that translating Monty Python into other languages makes any sense? does this kind of humour break all boundaries (for example generation gap and all this staff)? Is it universal?

I remember talking about them a great deal and my mom asked me what I found so fascinating about them, she told me she didn't like them and that their comedy was randy. They presented some shows on Telemundo here in Puerto Rico, translated in spanish in the beggining, but the ones where they stopped showing them I suppose they had lost all sort of entusiasm into translating it in spanish.
I find their comedy to be very familiar with some of the things I've seen in local TV, and I love their style because of the way they preform, serious and straight on. I also have a say on the generation gap question, and I found it that their jokes aren't really attached to anything particular about the era and even if it does it's done in sucha charismatic way that just makes you want to learn more and now what they're on about. And it's all silly, very silly, which I think is best kept that way. Oh yeah and the long sketches well I can't opppose to them I find it to be like a test, how much can you handle them? How much Python can you take?

Have you confused your cat lately?
