I know Nudge Nudge is classic but or me one of Eric Idle's best skecthes in the series is the travel agents sketch, esp. when he starts singing 'Torremelinos'. Palin is just as good, tho, just sitting there getting more and more annoyed

I don`t think Ewic`d learned all the words by heart, may be he just prepared some phrases... Don`t forget that they`re all educated enough to talk quickly without mistakes (especially Eric, he studied filology) and talanted enough to improvise.

You don't have to be well educated to do that though, used car salesman for example!

I just mentioned this because I`m a philologist too and we have speech practice
I agree that you don`t have to be well-educated to be good in such things

Fair enough I was merely pointing out that the art of bullsh*t is not a learned thing you either have it or you dont. Most Australians are masters of it.
