Hi Everybody,

I'm writing in the name of the fans of John Cleese from his forum.

We have a great idea. We plan to organise a silly march in March through London. The event would be on the 4th of March 2009, the idea is o play with the words even at the choice of the date... well, not the fruit, though.

Silly March Forth would be the official name. It's possible that we're going to organise other programmes. We also want to launch a new web-site, or something like that.

What do you think???

Chris

Cool! Sounds like a plan! Pity I live in Australia  . Though have you heard of our Spikefest, held in Woy Woy?

... http://www.peninsulanews.asn.au/News/03 ... ckward.asp

Considering Spike Milligan did a lot of his writing at his parents' place in Woy Woy, the townsfolk, in the spirit of his song 'I'm Walking Backwards for Christmas', walked backwards, for Christmas. Or rather they were going to until the council forbade it on the grounds that they might fall over . Nevertheless, Australians being the cleverest of peoples, overcame this problem by turning their clothes around back-the-front and walking forwards :D . Australia! Australia! Australia! Australia! We love you! Amen! :)

By the way, if it's going to be a Python day, and especially as it's titled Silly March Fourth, in all seriousness it should be held on March 5th.

Great idea. I'll be there - might even be able to get my samba band out.

I don't live in London, either! No excuse is accepted! :D

But, there's a new idea too. A silly football (soccer) game following the march. It would cost a little money, but all the income would go to the Spike Milligan Statue Fund.

I'm sure Australia is a great place, I wish I could go there one day!

Yes, because Cleese just LOVES to be reminded again and again of the silly walk...

Hi Spiny!!!

Well, it's not about John's silly walk... It would be a silly march with us being dressed up as Gumbies (well, that's the main plan at the moment)... and we would play a charity silly footie game, and perhaps there would be other side-events.

Excellent.
You've gotta have the Bournemouth Gynaecologists vs. the Watford Long John Silver Impersonators. And a rugby match pitting the All Blacks against the Derby Council XV :D
